Zankyou No Terror enough said.
This anime is really interesting because its narrative is based on the perspective of characters that are typically cast as evil. The writers try to get the audience to sympathize with the main characters and connect with them on their goals.
I’m not sure what the message of the show is, but it almost feels as though they are referencing the old saying that someone’s terrorist is another’s freedom fighter. That theme is continuously noted throughout in little ways.
If there is one thing I like about the show, it is the music. It suits the anime perfectly and it is filled with a lot of color and beautiful sounds. The music choices evoke strong imagery and emotion and the animation is fantastic. It seems simplistic and complex all at the same time and the characters are so well drawn.
The story is psychological and it is very puzzling. In the beginning, I thought this anime was going to be a home run for sure, but as it was reaching its end I was getting a bit disappointed. The ending was blah. The only think I liked about the ending was the exotic music.
The girl in the anime really annoyed me. She was such a liability and I am frustrated that she wasn’t characterized as a strong, intelligent girl instead of the unreliable and emotional wreck that she was. Realistically, if strangers said that they were going to either kill you or make you an accomplice, and you managed to get away, would you try and become their friends?
Can’t tell if you noticed but my thoughts are completely scattered about this anime because it’s confusing. It seems so pointless because I don’t understand why the main characters had to go through all that trouble to get their voice heard. They could have just gone to a news agency and provided documents or something to show their credibility. They didn’t have to gamble like they did.
The big lesson from this anime is that if you treat children badly, they will remember and seek revenge. That’s the only connection I can make because it wasn’t relatable at all.
Still, the anime wasn’t bad. I give it a 3.5 out of 5 because I am sure it’s a 5 star for someone. I am trying very hard to only tell you about memorable anime so the next one I share will receive a 5 out of 5 rating. I got you!
Listen, check out Steins Gate, Samurai Champloo, Kyoukai no Kanata, and Beck. You’re welcome!
